For anyone catching a six o’clock boat, it is exactly the right one.

The city has more to it than transit, and a traveller with a few hours between connections should use them. The cathedral, the provincial capitol complex and the old Spanish-era street grid are a walk from the near-pier district, and the Blood Compact Shrine sits just outside the centre — the monument to the 1565 blood compact between Miguel López de Legazpi and the datu Sikatuna, and the reason the city’s Sandugo festival happens every July.
