Overview

Alta Citta Mall opened in downtown Tagbilaran City on 6 July 2019, developed by the Alturas Group of Companies on the former site of Holy Name University’s DWC-T campus. Four levels cover roughly 17,213 square metres, placing it among the cluster of malls in the Tagbilaran central district alongside Alturas Mall, AH Shoppers Mart, and Bohol Quality Mall. Poblacion II, the barangay it sits in, is a central commercial zone close to the hospital district anchored by Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center and Ramiro Community Hospital.

Anchor tenants at opening included a supermarket, Jollibee, The Prawn Farm, Medicine Plus Pharmacy, Sunburst, EO, David’s Salon, and an Ibex call-center office. By the mall’s fifth-anniversary write-up in July 2024, the tenant mix had grown to include Chowking, BPI, Miniso, Hukad, and Dimsum Break alongside the 2019 lineup — Jollibee, Sunburst, ibex, David’s Salon, Executive Optical, the supermarket, and MedPlus pharmacy.

Alturas Group of Companies, the developer, is a Bohol-founded retail business rather than a branch office of a Manila-headquartered chain — it also operates Alturas Mall a few blocks away on the same Poblacion II grid, giving the two sister properties a locally rooted alternative to the national SM- and Ayala-style groups that anchor shopping in most Philippine provincial capitals. For a city the size of Tagbilaran, that ownership structure keeps management decisions and a share of retail spending closer to the province: staffing across the supermarket, the pharmacy, the salon, and the food tenants draws on the local labor pool rather than routing hiring and profit through an outside head office. The reuse of the former Holy Name University DWC-T campus site also meant the mall was built on already-urbanized land in the city centre rather than requiring new land conversion at the edge of town.

On the food side, the tenant mix leans toward national fast-food brands — Jollibee and Chowking — alongside Hukad, a Cebu-founded chain known for serving native Visayan dishes such as grilled meats and kinilaw buffet-style, and Dimsum Break for a lighter Chinese-Filipino snack stop. It functions as a convenience option rather than a showcase for Boholano specialties: kalamay, puso, and other local delicacies are still sold more authentically at Cogon Public Market or the pasalubong shops strung along CPG Avenue than inside any of Tagbilaran’s enclosed malls.

Poblacion II, Tagbilaran City. Tagbilaran is the provincial capital of Bohol, the main arrival point for domestic flights and inter-island ferries from Cebu. Poblacion II sits near the city centre, walkable or a short tricycle ride from the pier.

Getting There

From the Tagbilaran pier, a tricycle reaches Poblacion II in about 10 minutes. From the Dao transport terminal, tricycle or habal-habal covers the distance. From Bohol-Panglao International Airport, the drive to the city centre runs about 20–25 minutes.

General mall hours run 10:00 AM–10:00 PM; the ground-floor supermarket and Jollibee open earlier, at 6:00 AM. Parking: a basement carpark holds 65 cars and 150 motorcycles, with an additional outside lot adding roughly 65 more car spaces — about 130 car spaces in total.

What to Expect
