Bohol Beaches & Sandbars: 26 Places to Swim, Including the Ones Off the Tourist Map

26 places to see

Panglao gets most of the attention — Alona Beach and the resort strip around it draw the bulk of Bohol’s beach tourism, and for good reason: it’s the most developed, most swimmable stretch on the island. But Bohol’s coastline runs the length of the province, and a fair share of what’s catalogued here sits well outside Panglao: sandbars that surface at low tide off Tubigon and the Danajon reef towns, the quieter, powdery-sand stretches around Anda on the eastern peninsula, and small public beaches attached to individual barangays that see mostly local weekend traffic rather than tour vans.

Water quality and development level vary a lot more here than the postcard shots suggest — some of these are genuinely undeveloped, with no facilities beyond a sari-sari store; a few are essentially private frontage for a single resort. Check the individual entry before planning a trip around one you haven’t heard of.
