Overview

Kinahugan Falls — also spelled Kinahulugan — is a three-waterfall formation in Sitio Karapagan, Barangay Cabungaan, Jagna. The three falls are arranged in a triangular configuration: a central fall flanked by one to the north and one to the south. The cliff stands approximately 50 feet high. The largest fall drops into a basin roughly 15 feet deep and at least 60 feet across. The site is reached by a short jungle trail of around five minutes. There is no entry fee; the site operates on a donation basis.

Both spellings in circulation point back to the same Cebuano root — hulog, meaning “to fall” or “to drop” — a naming pattern shared with waterfalls elsewhere in the Visayas, where a site is named plainly for what happens at it rather than for a person or event. Cabungaan sits inland from the coast in Jagna’s interior, in the same general upland belt as Mt.
