Kinahugan Falls

Overview

Kinahugan Falls — also spelled Kinahulugan — is a three-waterfall formation in Sitio Karapagan, Barangay Cabungaan, Jagna. The three falls are arranged in a triangular configuration: a central fall flanked by one to the north and one to the south. The cliff stands approximately 50 feet high. The largest fall drops into a basin roughly 15 feet deep and at least 60 feet across. The site is reached by a short jungle trail of around five minutes. There is no entry fee; the site operates on a donation basis.

Location

Sitio Karapagan, Barangay Cabungaan, Municipality of Jagna, Bohol. Approximately 5 kilometres from Jagna town centre. The site is near Mt. Taliwtiw.

Getting There

What to Expect

From the basin, all three drops are visible at once — a vantage most single-fall sites in Jagna can’t offer. The five-minute trail in keeps the approach low-effort relative to the scale of what’s at the bottom. Flow and clarity shift with the season: dry months run clearer, wet months run heavier.

Notes

Jagna is known for its calamay (sticky rice and coconut milk sweet) production. A visit to Kinahugan Falls pairs well with a stop at one of the town’s calamay makers, such as Ching’s Calamay. Jagna also has a working port with fast-craft connections to Cebu.
