Getting There

From Tagbilaran City, take a bus or van headed to Jagna along the south coastal road. Travel time is approximately 1.5 hours. From Jagna town proper, take a motorcycle or habal-habal to Barangay Mayana.

Reported habal-habal fare from Jagna market is approximately PHP 100 one-way; a jeepney also serves the route with limited afternoon schedules.

The roughly PHP 100 habal-habal fare from Jagna market to Mayana is a small but real part of the local transport economy — upland barangays like Mayana depend on habal-habal drivers to move both farm produce down to town and visitors up to the trailhead, since no larger public transport serves the route beyond a limited afternoon jeepney schedule. Anyone finishing the climb should budget time in Jagna town afterward: the municipality is one of Bohol’s better-known sources of calamay, the coconut-and-rice sweet sold along the port road and at producers such as Ching’s Calamay in Barangay Can-upao.
