Bohol’s waterfalls cluster in the hillier interior municipalities — Antequera, Batuan, the outskirts of Loboc — where the terrain drops enough to produce a real falls rather than a stream. Mag-aso Falls, about 20km from Tagbilaran, is the most accessible and most visited: a short walk from the road to a natural pool with basic facilities. Most of the rest require more effort — a longer approach on foot, less signage, no facilities beyond what the barangay has put in informally.
None of these are large by regional standards; what they offer is a natural pool to cool off in after a hot inland drive, which is most of the appeal on an island that doesn’t have a lot of freshwater swimming otherwise.
WaterfallsMag-aso Falls in barangay Mag-aso, Antequera (about 20 km from Tagbilaran), is a roughly 25-foot twin waterfall set among tall trees and giant ferns, with a natural pool below partly fitted with concrete steps and shelters. 'Mag-aso' refers to the mist ('aso', smoke) thrown up by the falling water.
WaterfallsThe site is approximately a 15-minute drive from the Batuan Public Market. Then, visitors will walk a few meters and pass through scenic trails and lush vegetation to reach the natural attraction. Amidst the mountainous landscape, the waterfall drops through a run of rocky cliffs.
WaterfallsBusay Falls is a waterfall in Barangay Quinogitan, Loboc, Bohol. It is distinct from Busai Dream Falls (also in Loboc) and is listed separately in the BPTO tourist-attraction inventory. The falls feed a small natural pool accessible via a short trail from the barangay road.
