Overview

Kawasan Falls — locally known as Busay sa Kawasan — is a 10-metre-high waterfall in Purok 5, Barangay San Isidro, Trinidad. The water drops into a plunge basin approximately 7 metres deep. In summer, the basin holds crystal-clear, emerald-green water; during the rainy season the water becomes murky from upstream runoff. Adjacent to the falls is a 22-metre overhanging cliff suitable for rock climbing. The surrounding LGU-maintained forest supports mammals and birds, while the cold basin is habitat for tilapia, karpa, and other freshwater fish.

Location

Barangay San Isidro (Purok 5), Municipality of Trinidad, Bohol. The falls sit approximately 5 kilometres from the Batongay Tourism Complex.

Getting There

The approach road is a dirt track accessible by motorcycle (habal-habal). The ride from the Batongay Tourism Complex takes at least 45 minutes. Private vehicle access is not described in available sources — [TO ENRICH: road condition, jeepney options from Trinidad town centre].

What to Expect
