Vita Isola Leisure Farm

Overview

Vita Isola Leisure Farm — the name borrows the Spanish/Italian for “island life” — is a roughly one-hectare organic farm, aqua-farm, restaurant, and small resort property in Barangay Ubojan on Sandingan Island, Loon. Boholano couple Raymond and Janeth Roldan, owners of the Visayas-wide telecom retail chain Save N’ Earn, built and opened it in 2018 as an expansion of what started as a retirement rest house. The property runs an organic vegetable and herb garden grown without chemicals or pesticides, an aquaculture operation raising bangus (milkfish), kitong, pompano, and abalone, native-breed farm animals — chickens, turkeys, goats, quails, rabbits — and the on-site Casa Boholano restaurant, which serves Visayan dishes built from the farm’s own produce and fresh seafood. A two-bedroom guesthouse, La Casita, handles overnight stays, with an infinity pool and kayaking into the adjacent mangrove.

Location

Barangay Ubojan, Sandingan Island, Loon, Bohol. Loon faces the Camotes Sea/Cebu Strait and is known for the heritage Nuestra Señora de la Luz Church. Sandingan Island is connected to the Loon mainland via the Tajang Causeway.

Getting There

From Tagbilaran City, travel by bus or van toward Loon (approximately 45–60 minutes). From Loon Market (Mercado de Loon), ride a tricycle or habal-habal to Vita Isola Leisure Farm on Sandingan Island.

What to Expect

Visitors join a guided walk through the organic garden, picking herbs and vegetables under supervision, then move through the native-animal pens and the aquaculture ponds. The infinity pool and mangrove kayaking round out the day, with a farm-to-table Visayan meal at Casa Boholano to close it. Overnight stays run through the two-bedroom La Casita guesthouse.

• Loon is also accessible by ferry from Cebu (Tubigon port is roughly 15 km north).
