Danicop Ticugan Spring

Overview

Danicop-Ticugan Springs, officially listed by the Municipality of Loon as one of its tourist attractions, is a cold freshwater spring set in forest in Barangay Ticugan. A small waterfall feeds a natural pool carved into limestone, the water carrying the greenish tint typical of Bohol’s karst springs. It functions mainly as a local recreation spot for weekend family and friend-group picnics rather than a developed resort.

Location

Barangay Ticugan, Loon, Bohol. Loon is a coastal municipality on the northwest coast of Bohol, approximately 30 km from Tagbilaran City and close to the Tubigon ferry port. The spring sits within a forested area reached by a stone stairway and a shaded footpath from the jump-off point.

Getting There

From Tagbilaran City, take a bus approximately 30 km north to Mercado de Loon (30–45 minutes). From there, hire a habal-habal or tricycle to Danicop-Ticugan Springs; drivers typically charge Php 35 to Php 50 for the fare. From the jump-off point, visitors descend a stone-cut stairway and walk a short forested path to reach the spring.
