Overview

Most Holy Trinity Cathedral Parish is a Catholic parish church in Poblacion, Talibon, Bohol, listed in the provincial tourist-attraction inventory under the History and Culture category. The present coral-stone church was built between 1852 and 1899 — some sources date the main structure to 1852–1875, with the belfry added 1868–1875 — under Augustinian Recollect administration. On January 9, 1986, Pope John Paul II created the Diocese of Talibon, elevating this church to cathedral status as a suffragan see of the Archdiocese of Cebu. The current Bishop of Talibon is Daniel Patrick Y. Parcon, in office since 2014. The cathedral was designated a National Historical Landmark in 2015, and a major renovation of the building was completed in 2024.
