Overview
Kaukag Cave is a recently discovered underground chamber in Barangay San Francisco, Ubay, Bohol. It was found by the Department of Education and LGU Cultural Mappers as part of cultural heritage documentation work in the municipality. The cave interior is described as mostly disorganised in structure, with a limited number of active (live) stalagmites and stalactites present on site.

Getting There
From Tagbilaran City, travel east along the Bohol Circumferential Road toward Ubay. Travel time is approximately 2.5–3 hours. From Ubay town proper, Barangay San Francisco is reachable by habal-habal or tricycle.

What to Expect
Kaukag Cave is at an early stage of tourism development — closer to a cultural-mapping find than a surveyed and mapped system. Unlike Bohol’s more developed caves, the formations here haven’t had time to build out; the handful of active stalactites and stalagmites present point to a system still forming rather than one already spent. Because the discovery came through DepEd’s cultural mapping rather than a formal speleological survey, access infrastructure is likely minimal.
