Eva Cave

Overview

Eva Cave is a small cave in Barangay Odiong, Jagna, Bohol. The cave was enlarged by an earthquake at an unrecorded point in its history, expanding the accessible interior. Inside, the water is cold and knee-deep, and swiftlet nests are present. Swiftlet nests like these are the raw material for the edible bird’s-nest trade found across parts of Southeast Asia; there’s no record of this colony being harvested, but nesting swiftlets are frequently what turns an otherwise plain cave into a site worth noting at all. Wild orchids grow in the surrounding vegetation at the cave entrance.

Location
