Danao Adventure Park

Overview

Danao Adventure Park, formally E.A.T. Danao (Eco, Educational, Extreme Adventure Tour), is an LGU-owned adventure park in Barangay Magtangtang, Danao municipality, with its income directed back into the local community. The park sits in highland terrain above the Wahig River gorge, about two hours by road from Tagbilaran City via the Sagbayan–Danao route.

The signature attraction is The Plunge, a canyon swing with roughly 70 metres of free fall into the gorge, recorded in Philippine tourism references as the only canyon swing of its kind in the country. The Suislide, a 480-metre zipline, crosses the same gorge; the Giant Swing, Glass Cliffwalk, Hamster Wheel, Zip Bike, and Skyride round out the fixed rides.

Beyond the rides, the park runs guided river kayaking on the Wahig, plus caving, river tubing, river trekking, and rappelling.

Location

Barangay Magtangtang, Danao, in Bohol’s northern interior highlands. The elevation gives the park its views over forested ridges. Magtangtang also holds the Francisco Dagohoy Marker, within or adjacent to the park grounds — the site tied to the Dagohoy Revolt, the longest anti-colonial uprising in Philippine history, which held Bohol’s interior outside Spanish control for roughly 85 years starting in 1744.

Getting There

From Tagbilaran City: approximately 2 hours by road via the Sagbayan–Danao highway. Habal-habal from Danao town to Magtangtang is available. Most visitors book the park as part of an organised Bohol north-countryside tour.

The Plunge is the park’s highest-impact activity by a clear margin — a full 70-metre drop before the swing arrests it. The Suislide can be ridden seated or prone. The Glass Cliffwalk, a glass-floored platform over the gorge edge, is more photography-and-vertigo experience than physical challenge. River kayaking runs 2–3 hours with a guide along the Wahig, ending at a riverbank picnic spot. Every activity carries a safety briefing, and none of the main rides run self-guided.
