Bonogan Cave

Overview

Bonogan Cave in Barangay Upper Cabacnitan, Municipality of Batuan, is a two-section limestone cave with a tidal river running through it. The first section measures 78 metres in length; the second measures 106 metres. Total traversable length is approximately 184 metres across both chambers.

The cave floor carries accumulated bat guano — the dried droppings of the cave’s bat colony — which historically has been harvested as agricultural fertilizer. The interior is decorated with rock formations (stalactites and stalagmites). What to Expect
