The absence is the answer here: there is no direct ferry and no single-operator crossing between Bohol and Boracay. No amount of searching will turn one up, and any listing implying a one-ticket Bohol-to-Boracay product is bundling the same transfers you could arrange yourself, usually with less control over the layovers.
Every real itinerary between these two islands is a combination. There are two of them: fly, connecting through Cebu or Manila, or go overland and by sea through Panay. The first takes an afternoon, the second takes days, and the cost gap between them is narrower than it looks.
Option 1 — fly via Cebu or Manila
The fastest realistic path leaves from Bohol-Panglao International Airport, connects through Mactan-Cebu or Manila, and lands at either Caticlan or Kalibo. Caticlan is much the closer of the two to Boracay’s jetty port; Kalibo often has more flight options but adds a long overland leg to reach the same jetty crossing. From either airport it is a tricycle to the jetty and a banca ride of a few minutes to the island itself.
As of late July 2026, 12Go’s flight aggregator showed fares from roughly ₱4,295 one-way and a fastest total connection time of about 3 hours 10 minutes, across Philippine Airlines and Philippines AirAsia. Treat both figures as indicative — flight numbers, times and fares on this network shift constantly. Check an airline site or aggregator for your actual date.
Book connections with real buffer between legs. A missed connection in Cebu or Manila on this routing does not have a same-day recovery in high season.

Option 2 — overland and ferry through Panay
For travellers who would rather not fly, or who are already building a slower Visayas itinerary, the route runs: fast craft from Tagbilaran Pier to Cebu (about two hours), then onward by ferry — or a combination of bus and ferry — toward Iloilo or Roxas on Panay island, and finally a bus or van across Panay to Caticlan for the jetty crossing.
This is genuinely a multi-day undertaking once port transfers and connection waits are counted. It is a reasonable way to travel if Panay is part of the trip rather than an obstacle in it. It is not a same-day option and should not be planned as one.
The Cebu-to-Panay connections shift more than the Bohol–Cebu leg does, so research them for your specific dates rather than assuming last year’s schedule holds.

The ports and airports
- Bohol side — Bohol-Panglao International Airport for flying, or Tagbilaran Pier for the Cebu ferry leg.
- Cebu leg — Mactan-Cebu International Airport for a flight connection, or Port of Cebu for the ferry.
- Boracay side — Caticlan Jetty Port is the arrival point in both cases, a few minutes by banca from the island. Kalibo airport is roughly a two-hour overland transfer from that same jetty.
Confirm which jetty port your final connection actually targets before booking it. Caticlan and Kalibo are used loosely as “Boracay airports” and they are not equivalent.
Is the overland route actually cheaper?
Less than people assume. The per-leg fares are lower, but the route adds hotel nights in Cebu and on Panay, plus port transfers and terminal fees at each break — and those extras are what close the gap. Compare the total for your specific dates, including accommodation, before concluding that the ferry route wins on price.
The genuine argument for going overland is not cost. It is that you see Cebu and Panay instead of two airport lounges, and that a slow route through the Visayas is a reasonable trip in its own right. Choose it for that reason, not to save money you probably will not save.
How to book
- Decide first whether Panay is part of your trip or an obstacle. That settles the routing.
- Flying: check Cebu Pacific, PAL and PAL Express for Panglao–Cebu or –Manila, then onward to Caticlan or Kalibo. Leave buffer between legs.
- Overland: book the Tagbilaran–Cebu fast craft first, then research current Cebu-to-Panay options for your dates.
- Confirm your Boracay-side arrival airport. Caticlan is the shorter transfer by a wide margin.
- Treat any single-ticket “Bohol to Boracay” listing with suspicion — it is the same connections, bundled.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a direct ferry from Bohol to Boracay?
No. Every route is a transfer, either by air through Cebu or Manila, or overland and by ferry through Cebu and Panay.
What is the fastest way from Bohol to Boracay?
Flying from Bohol-Panglao, connecting through Cebu or Manila, to Caticlan or Kalibo, then a short banca crossing to the island. Around 3 hours 10 minutes total on the quickest connections observed.
Caticlan or Kalibo?
Caticlan — it is far closer to the jetty port. Kalibo usually offers more flights but adds a long overland leg to reach the same crossing.
Is the overland route cheaper than flying?
Not by as much as it looks, once extra hotel nights and transfer fees are counted. Compare the full total for your dates.
How long does the overland route take?
Multiple days, allowing for the Cebu ferry, the Panay-bound connection to Iloilo or Roxas, and the bus to Caticlan. It is not a same-day trip.
Can I book the whole trip on one ticket?
Not as a genuine direct product. Bundled listings assemble the same connections; piecing it together yourself gives you better control over layovers and cost.
