Seaport

Port of Getafe

A seaport at the northernmost point of Bohol, in Getafe (also spelled "Jetafe") — Bohol-side terminus of the Cordova RoRo Port crossing from Mactan (Sunriser Cordova), plus direct Cebu City routes (Clemer Shipping, OceanJet). Strategic gateway for northern Bohol, Anda, and the eastern circuit without transiting Tagbilaran.

Type: SeaportLocation: Getafe, Bohol (northernmost Bohol)

Overview

Port of Getafe (also spelled “Jetafe”) serves the northernmost tip of Bohol. For travellers whose destination is northern Bohol — Getafe town, the northern Chocolate Hills viewpoints, Talibon, or the Anda peninsula — this port eliminates the need to arrive at Tagbilaran and drive 70–90 km north.

Three confirmed operators serve Getafe: Sunriser Cordova from Mactan Island, Clemer Shipping Lines from Cebu Pier 3, and OceanJet fast craft from Cebu Pier 1.

Sunriser Cordova: best option from Mactan Airport

The Mactan-side departure at Cordova RoRo Port (south Mactan, ~20–30 min from the airport by van) makes Sunriser the most logical connection for travellers flying into Mactan who want to reach northern Bohol without going into Cebu City. Vehicles accepted — book vehicle space ahead during peak periods. Classes: Economy, Economy Upper Deck, Standard.

Clemer Shipping: direct Cebu Pier 3–Getafe

Two slots daily each direction. Open-air only — bench seating, no air-con. Pier usually Cebu Pier 3 (small operators occasionally shift — confirm at booking). Missing the 09:00 means a 7-hour wait; book ahead.

“This is a smaller, more authentic Filipino ferry experience than the fast-craft brands, functional rather than tourist-oriented.” — Clemer operator file, 2026-06-25.

Onward travel from Getafe

  • Chocolate Hills (Carmen, northern viewpoints): 30–45 min by habal-habal or hired van.
  • Anda (eastern Bohol beaches): 2–3 h by hired car via northern coast road.
  • Tagbilaran City: ~1.5 h by bus or van — if Panglao is your destination, OceanJet/SuperCat to Tagbilaran is faster.
  • Talibon: ~30–40 min south by van.

Local transport: tricycles and habal-habal from the port. Pre-arrange transfers — Getafe has no walk-up taxi density.

Practical notes

  • Sunriser RORO: vehicles board first; arrive 60 min early with a vehicle.
  • Clemer Shipping: print your ticket — small operators less consistent about phone screens.
  • Weather: Getafe is exposed; monsoon-season afternoon cancellations more likely than at enclosed fast-craft terminals.
  • No Grab in Bohol — all ground transport is van-for-hire, tricycle, or pre-arranged.
