A short frontage forces a resort to stack, because everyone has to be near the same narrow strip of sand; half a kilometre of it means the rooms can spread along the line and still all be close to water.

The low-tide islet is the part of the site the plan did not create and could not have. A sand causeway that appears and disappears with the tide is a geological accident of this stretch of coast, and the sensible response is exactly what has been done with it: leave it alone and let guests walk out. Building on it, or engineering permanent access to it, would destroy the thing that makes it worth having — its intermittency is the experience.
