Ughob Cave

Overview

Ughob Cave is located in Barangay Botong, Valencia, a municipality in the interior of Bohol. The cave entrance is surrounded by dense vegetation, and stalactites and stalagmites are visible at the mouth — a feature that allows even non-spelunking visitors to observe cave formations without venturing deep underground.

Inside the cave, water drips from rock formations and collects on the floor in a corner section of the underground chamber. The cave has been identified as one of fourteen potential ecotourism sites in Valencia that the local government has earmarked as future attractions to showcase the natural character of the municipality.

What to Expect

Vegetation-covered surroundings lead to a cave entrance with stalactite and stalagmite formations already visible from outside. The interior includes a chamber where water drips from the ceiling. The experience is low-intensity by Bohol cave standards — the site is identified as a potential site rather than an established tourist destination, meaning facilities may be minimal.
