Green Thumb Farm

Overview

Green Thumb Farm is a 2.5-hectare mushroom and organic-vegetable farm in Purok 4, Barangay Sambog, Corella, Bohol, established in 2017. It is described as the first mushroom farm of its kind in Bohol. It is listed in the BPTO 2025 provincial tourist-attraction inventory under Industrial Tourism — Farm/Ranch.

Corella is a small inland municipality immediately north of Tagbilaran City and is best known as the location of the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary. Green Thumb Farm sits in the same municipality, providing an agricultural tourism complement to the wildlife attraction.

The farm cultivates several mushroom varieties — oyster mushrooms in gray, yellow, black, and pink strains, plus milky white and reishi mushrooms — alongside organic vegetables. Daily harvests run 8–15 kg, with reported peak-day yields up to 100 kg; spent mushroom substrate is converted into fertilizer rather than discarded. An on-site restaurant, Green Thumb Alfresco Resto, serves organic meals built from the farm’s own produce, including mushroom-based sisig, siomai, pizza, and burgers.

Getting There

Corella is a short drive from Tagbilaran City — approximately 15–20 minutes by private vehicle or habal-habal. The municipality is passed through when travelling to Carmen and the Chocolate Hills. Public jeepneys serve Corella from Tagbilaran’s Dao terminal.

Visitors walk the growing operation and can buy mushrooms and vegetables straight from the farm rather than a market stall. Green Thumb Alfresco Resto turns the stop into a meal — the mushroom sisig and mushroom pizza put the day’s harvest on the plate instead of just on display.
