Overview

The Batongay Tourism Complex in Purok 6, Barangay Sto. Tomas Banlasan, Trinidad, Bohol is an LGU-owned and operated nature and recreation complex. Municipal Ordinance No. 10 Series of 2018 formally identified it as one of the municipality’s major tourism destinations, incorporating the Batongay Cave and Batongay Twin Peak — both originally declared tourist spots in January 2007 — along with their surrounding flora, fauna, forest resources, and supporting facilities.

Batongay Cave

What to Expect

The cave system requires physical readiness — the 700-meter trek involves wading through a stream and ducking under rock formations. Comfortable footwear that can get wet is essential. The four named chambers each offer different experiences, from bat-roost ecology to the cathedral-like stalactite formations of Langub sa Simbahan.
