Port of Talibon

Overview

Port of Talibon was created by the Philippine Ports Authority specifically to reduce congestion at Tagbilaran — the provincial capital port. It serves the northernmost major municipality in Bohol’s main island, plus 8 offshore island barangays.

Island barangay connections

Eight island barangays in Talibon municipality are accessible only by sea — Busalian, Calituban, Cataban, Guindacpan, Mahanay, Nocnocan, Sag, and Suba — plus outrigger connections to neighboring coastal towns (Getafe, Trinidad, Bien Unido). Schedules for outrigger services are not reliably published online; confirm locally at the port.

Getting to Talibon Port

Talibon is ~90 km from Tagbilaran City, approximately 2–2.5 h by bus (Dao Terminal, interior highway via Carmen, or northern coastal highway). From Getafe Port: ~30–40 min south.

Practical decision: for central/southern Bohol destinations (Chocolate Hills, Loboc, Panglao), Tubigon or Tagbilaran ports reduce total travel time significantly — the 4-h Talibon crossing plus 2.5-h overland to Tagbilaran adds up.

• No Grab in Bohol — vans and buses from the port area; confirm connections locally.
