Overview
Loon Port and Catagbacan Port are the same facility — confirmed in a 2020 Bohol Provincial Government resolution (“Catagbacan Loon Port”) and a 2021 Philippine Ports Authority seven-port inauguration. Local usage more commonly uses “Catagbacan Port”; PPA and provincial records use “Loon Port.”
This is primarily a cargo and vehicle RoRo shortcut between western Bohol and southeastern Cebu — not a tourist passenger hub. Travellers moving vehicles between Bohol and Argao or the Cebu south coast route through here; leisure foot-passenger traffic is minimal.

Getting there
Loon is ~35 km northwest of Tagbilaran City. By bus from Dao Terminal: northwestern coastal highway toward Tubigon, disembark at Loon junction (~45 min), then tricycle to Catagbacan port. By hired van: ~35–45 min from Tagbilaran.
Practical notes
- Port is not well-signposted for tourist passengers; confirm the exact terminal location locally in Loon town.
- Vehicle passengers: book ahead, especially for cargo trucks during peak harvest periods.
- Walk-on passenger service exists but is secondary to the vehicle trade.
