San Vicente Bike Trail

Type: Sports and Recreational FacilitiesBest time: Dry season, December to April — firmer ground and better visibility; avoid July-September rains

Overview

The San Vicente Bike Trail, in Barangay San Vicente, Trinidad, is one of the few formally recognized recreational trails in a municipality where land use runs mostly agricultural rather than tourism-oriented. It’s associated with Vicana Nature Park, known locally for hosting mountain-bike trail races and off-road events. Riders follow an unpaved access road climbing toward a hill; the loose surface and grade make it real physical effort rather than the flat spin of a road ride.

Trail condition tracks the season closely: firmer ground and clearer sightlines in the December–April dry months, a slicker, harder ride during the July–September rains, when Bohol’s wet season also brings typhoon exposure.

Notes

  • Bohol’s wet season runs July–September with typhoon exposure; avoid trail visits during this period
  • Trinidad has limited tourism infrastructure; bring sufficient water and supplies
